Three Steps to Registering Online

1. Login to this website
All eligible members of 32BJ already have accounts on our website. Your Login ID is your first initial + last name + the last four digits of your Social Security number. For example: John Smith with a Social Security number of 123-45-6789 would format his username: jsmith6789
Your password is “password” (all lowercase). Note that the first time you login to our site you will be prompted to change your password. Please call us at 212-388-3701 if you have any trouble logging in.
2. Search the Online Course Catalog
Now that you’re logged in, let’s take a look at where we can find our courses. On the grey menu bar of this website (upper left hand corner) you'll see an option for COURSES.
When you hover the mouse over the word COURSES you'll see a menu box pop-up. The first two links on this menu will direct you to our two course catalogs. The first option, SEARCH FOR COURSES, is where you will find all of our in-person classroom based course offerings The second option, SEARCH FOR ONLINE COURSES, is where you will find all of the online courses that you take take from any internet connected computer.
Click on SEARCH FOR ONLINE COURSES and you’ll be brought to the search screen. If you know the name of the course you’d like to take you can type it in in the “Enter Keyword(s)” box and click the green search button. For example, this is how we could search specifically for Online: Disaster Preparedness.
If you don’t know the name of the Online class you want to take leave the “Enter Keyword(s)” box blank and click the green search button. You’ll see our entire Online course listing below.
Now it’s time to select the Online course you would like to take. In this example, we want to register for Online: Disaster Preparedness. Once you find list of Online courses, click on the course title.
3. Enroll in an Online Course
This is the page from where you access your Online course. To start your online course, click the “Access Item” green button. This will begin and open your Online course in a new window.
IMPORTANT: There is some background information on how our online courses work, so the first course that all members have to take is called ONLINE: INTRODUCTION TO ONLINE COURSES. This course takes about three minutes to complete. Once you have finished this course the system will allow you to take all of our other online courses.
Don’t forget! Online courses work best on a computer using Google Chrome without a pop-up blocker enabled. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee Online course performance or accessibility on mobile phones or tablets.
The course screen is split between the navigation panel on the left and the course window on the right. You’ll notice several links in the navigation panel. Sometimes, these links will be modules, or chapters. In other courses, it might just have the course title. Click on the first chapter/module, or course title, to begin working on the course.
If you have completed your course, or would like to save your progress and continue with your course another time, exit the course using the black X button in the top right corner of the course screen. Make sure you DON’T use the X button on the Windows screen! This will ensure you save your progress.
