Creating an Environment for Learning
Participants who take courses through the 32BJ Training Fund are hardworking people who make a commitment to their personal and professional development. Our Rules & Regulations are distributed at the start of each course. You are expected not only to read the Rules & Regulations, but also to show your fellow students the respect they deserve by abiding by these rules.
Minimum attendance of 80 percent is required. Students with an attendance rate of 70-79% can be given an option to be assigned make-up work to meet the attendance requirement.
Some courses and seminars require you to complete a prerequisite—a preparatory course—before you enroll. Some courses require minimum reading and math skills. Mastery of these skills can be established by presenting a U.S. High School Diploma, or GED, or by passing a standardized test at registration. These prerequisites are noted above the course description if they are required.
To satisfactorily complete a course you must maintain a grade level of at least 70% and meet the attendance requirements addressed above. Students with less than 80% attendance who pass a licensing exam or Certificate of Fitness exam will be given credit for meeting the attendance requirement of the course.
