The Thomas Shortman Training Fund at 32BJ is here to offer union members the ability to take classes on a variety of subjects. Our courses are designed to help teach you how to do your job safer, faster and more efficiently. Members are also encouraged to take courses on subject areas outside of their direct job responsibilities to help expand their general knowledge. Training classes at 32BJ can help enrich your world by exposing you to things you wouldn’t normally be exposed to.
We have highly trained, professional instructors teaching their trades in a myriad of courses. Our industry experts are ready to teach members in green buildings, carpentry, plumbing, electricity, computers, security and much more.

Our OSHA, 8 Hour Security Annual and Safe Drivers certificates can all be obtained for free by taking courses at 32BJ. We also help you train for your GED, citizenship exams, custodial license exams and FDNY licenses – all through the courses offered at the Training Fund.
